Cheaper Subdivision Fees?

At a recent seminar of Association of Consulting Surveyors Victoria, Land Registry officers advised of imminent changes to lodgement fees for subdivision plans.

Commencing on July 1st 2016, the Land Victoria lodgement fee for registration of a subdivision will become $550 + $170 per parcel, where a parcel is defined as a Lot, Road, Reserve or Common Property.

This move is a small but welcome step in the right direction to assist with reducing development costs in Victoria.

If more organizations were able to follow the Land Victoria lead, the broader goals for housing affordability may be realised sooner.

Australia Day Celebrations

The first British fleet to Australia raised the union jack over some newly claimed territory in 1788.  Shortly afterward, surveyors began subdividing the land.

In South Dandenong some 228 years later, the KLM Spatial team has raised the Aussie flag for the first time in our new territory at 3 Ordish Road.

Our Land Subdivision Consultancy services will be available on the Monday 25th, but not on Tuesday 26th January 2016.

We wish you all a festive holiday, to enjoy a lamb chop, a lamington and some pavlova,  then come an visit us to discuss your next project!

KLM Spatial Office Re-Location

After many years in Central Dandenong, KLM Spatial has outgrown the Mason Street office and will be re-locating to a purpose built facility, nestled between scattered river red gums in South Dandenong.

The original development site was burdened with a range of planning and engineering challenges, including native vegetation, access, drainage and limited public infrastructure.  These challenges were overcome by the dedicated KLM team, putting our skills to the test for a very positive and “personal” benefit.

The new address is as easy as 1,2,3 :

Suite 1
Unit 2
No. 3 Ordish Road Dandenong South 3175.

The “big move” is programmed for Tuesday August 25th 2015.

We are expecting some minor disruption to workflow during the transition, however we will be fully operational by Wednesday August 26th.

Our phone numbers will be unchanged.

We are excited by the move, which will provide long awaited improvements in facilities for our clients and staff.

Why not drop in and see us at the new office.
You will be surprised what we can do for you now.

Departmental Changes

On January 1st 2015 we have witnessed the launch of “DELWP”, the new Victorian State Government “Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning”, a merger of DLTPI and DEPI.

The new look website is located here : delwp.vic.gov.au

DELWP Web PageJust as we got the hang of the last acronyms, we soon all need to update our emails, web addresses and contact details once more.

The new department’s website identifies six management regions with a stated objective :  “We strive to deliver world class support and services to rural and regional communities across Victoria for all environment, land and water management, and planning issues.”

The department now operates out of a series of regional offices, searchable from an interactive online map:

The new department has 3 responsible ministers;

Hon Lisa Neville MP  –  Minister for Environment, Climate Change & Water

Hon Natalie Hutchins MP  –  Minister for Local Government

Hon Richard Wynne MP  –  Minister for Planning

We live in hope that this change will enable improvement in services for all participants involved with Environment, Land, Water and Planning which, lets face it, is probably every member of the Victorian Public.
